I would really like to see three equipment upgrade lists, one each for Melee, Range, and Magic.

For instance, I'm mostly Melee.

I have a full rune set of armor right now, but the best boots I have are Addy, and the best gloves I have are Klank's Gauntlets.

On the boots, I know Rune Boots, then Dragon Boots I guess, but where do I upgrade from there? Or is Dragon the best I can get? I know there is something called Bandos Boots that are very expensive, but I don't know what they do? Are they for Melee, Mage, or Ranging?

Same thing with gloves, I have no idea what to upgrade to next. I'm in the middle of Recipe for Disaster and I know that unlocks a bunch of qloves, but how do any of them compare to Klank's Gauntlets or Fremenik Gloves? Rune is the best? Barrows is the Best? Dragon is the best? I don't really know.

Same thing with helmets. You get my point?

Obviously, I could go through the equipment database here on RHQ, and write down the stats for each piece of gear (time consuming to say the least), and compare them side by side, but it seems like most players wouldn't go through all that hassle, they would just ask their friends for recommendations.

It would be nice to have just a simple spreadsheet like a ladder which shows your next upgrade of weapons or armor, then shows the cost to upgrade, then tells you what improvements you will get for that money in comparison to what you are using now.

That will allow you to make an informed decision on what you need to upgrade to and when you should do it, based on what your money situation is. It will also let you know if that very expensive item on the list is totally overhyped as far as it's stats go.

Hmm...This sounds very subjective. For instance, one piece of equipment could offer a higher, say, meele defense, but a lower magic defense. However, there could be multiple of these, for example, one if you want the highest magic defense possible and another if you want the highest meele defense.

Thats why I said there should be THREE lists. One for if you are aiming for Magic, one if you primarily are Melee, and one if you primarily are a Ranger. Actually it might be good to have a fourth list also, called "Balanced," for those people who switch back and forth between styles often.
And yes, like any ranking, there will be disputes over which item should come next in the list sometimes. But most of the time, when you upgrade a piece of gear you know what you are aiming for, what sort of stat boost you are seeking out of it. So therefore it should be easy to place on the appropriate list. If not it should be placed on the Balanced list.

Have you looked at this? http://www.runehq.co...ew.php?id=00762

Also, if you really want more, we have a place to submit guides and help databases if you want to write it ;) http://www.runehq.ne...hp?showforum=56

I'll need help from everyone but I'd be willing to try to write it.

I guess we should start out with melee armor, then work on melee gloves list, then work on melee capes, then melee boots, then melee helmets, then melee shields.

Then we can repeat each of the six lists for ranged, then mage, then balanced.

That makes a total of 24 lists. I'm obviously not qualified to write them or I wouldn't have started the topic. Can anyone help me out here and at least give us a rough outline for the first six lists above?

I know melee armor would pretty much go bronze > iron > steel = white = black > mith > addy > rune > dragon, but then where does it go from there? Barrows? I have no idea.

Melee Gloves would be Leather > Karajima I > Klanks Gauntlets = Goldsmith Gauntlets > then all the metals bronze thru dragons from the Culinariomancers Chest... is that correct? Or would bronze and iron rank lower than Klank's Gauntlets?

Melee Capes I have no idea about. All I've owned is the generic cape from the Varrock Clothing shop and the one from the Legends Quest.

Melee Boots, I guess would be Leather > Climbing > Black > Fighting > then all the metals bronze thru dragon? Is that correct?

Once we have it roughly fleshed out here maybe one of the mods could move it over to the Site Suggestions Category and set up a separate topic for each of 24 lists that way people can add or comment on the rankings of each individual list without it becoming too confusing.

The lists should actually be formatted like this:
ITEM NAME--------------REQUIREMENTS TO WIELD/WEAR-------------COST------------STAT BONUS OVER PREVIOUS ITEM
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thanks in advance for your help!

JIM

i think that the equipment is fine. if anything there should be better looking equipment. the reason for the equipment being fine were its at is that as long as the equipment is good enough to do anything in the game why make it better? if it does increase there wouldnt be a challenge...

If you would like to submit something for the guides on the site, you need to gather your information, then post in the Submissions Forum>Special Reports with your data. You can then ask for help in gathering information you have.

Regarding your overall idea though, I am not sure I completely understand what your idea is. If you want to see the stats of different items, then that is available, in the skill guides, in the calculator that Kassandra linked for you, and in the items database. The skill guides give you a list of all the armor available for melee, magic, and range. The items database gives you detailed information of where to find the items, their price, etc. The calculator lets you put everything together and see what kinds of stats it would add up to.

The one thing I might see as being useful is maybe adding to the calculator a field that would pull the street price information from the items database, so that you would know how much an "outfit" would cost overall. But if you're just looking for lists, then that is already available in the skill guides and I would encourage you to help us keep those updated by submitting information to the submissions board. Thanks.
