Forum Rules
- The most important rule we have on RuneHQ is respect. Do not do anything which may disrespect or offend another member. Flaming or any other direct or indirect attack on any other user or group is never acceptable. This type of behavior is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with accordingly.
- Use good posting etiquette. This is fairly self explanatory, but examples of poor posting etiquette include spamming, double posting (it is better to just edit your previous post when possible), posting harmful or malicious links, and backseat moderating. Please use the report button if you see a rule breaking post and our staff will take care of it. Posting in all caps should not be done for an entire post, but for a few words to make a point is fine. Also keep in mind we have many young members so material that is not appropriate for people under 13 should never be posted.
- There are things that are not to be discussed or asked for. Staff issues should never be discussed with non-staff, and asking for a new rank or to be staff is not allowed. Also asking someone for personal information about another member or staff member is inappropriate.
- All national and international laws apply to this forum. Do not encourage anyone to do anything illegal. Some examples are copyright infringement, file sharing discussion, plagiarism (including taking others' signature/avatar), and illegal drug use/underage smoking or drinking.
- Advertising other sites and outside linking is not allowed. The following are the only exceptions:
Links to other GGHQ sites or Jagex.com sites, and http://www.worldtimeserver.com are allowed.
*If your sig is made from another website, the text can stay but the link cannot be clickable.
* Outside links are allowed in the the following boards: Clan Recruitment, Off-Topic and reference links in Debates (i.e. news/research sites). These boards have specific rules regarding links, be sure and read those rules before posting.
* Note: Any sites that are harmful, feature people in various stages of undress or that would be considered inappropriate for our younger members will absolutely not be tolerated.
- RuneHQ has general rules that do not fall into any other category:
*Topics are not allowed to be over 500kb in total file size in a single page, however there are exceptions in a couple of places, so check out specific rules for each category before posting.
If you find that is still not sufficient, please use the gallery or upload thumbnails.
*Making multiple forum accounts or using someone else's forum account is not allowed. You are only allowed to have and use a single forum account and you are responsible for that account. If you leave your account logged in and your sibling gets on, you are still responsible for their actions.
- All RuneScape rules apply to this board. They can be found here if you need to read them: Jagex Rules. In addition to RuneScape rules, we also do not allow discussion of any RuneScape clients that are not endorsed by Jagex or RuneHQ.
Signature and Avatar Rules
- Signatures have the following limits:
- Signatures must follow all of the forum rules, including the rules about links.
- The total combined file size of your signature and avatar cannot exceed 100kb.
- The size of your signature, in pixels, cannot exceed 300 pixels tall, and 640 pixels wide. The width limit does not include text, however, the height limit does.
- Avatars have the following limits
- Avatars must follow all of the forum rules.
- Avatars must be 10kb or smaller, and 150 X 100 and under. If your avatar is over the limit, it will be removed by a moderator, who will ask you to re-size it.
Communication Between the Staff and You
- We cannot stress this enough, but if you have any forum or site related issues in general, PLEASE contact an admin via PM. Don't decide to make a topic/post with all your rants, because that will not solve your problem. That would make it really aggravating for us! We may or may not agree with what you have to say or offer, but we do take the time out to listen to any problems you have to address, and if we decide to make a decision, you can expect it to be a fair one.
- At RuneHQ, our rules are something we take seriously, and if you break them there will be consequences. These will range anywhere from a friendly PM from a staff member reminding you of the rules to a warning, and possibly a ban from the forums depending on the severity of the rule broken and how many previous offenses you have had. If you have a question about the rules, please check the FAQs or feel free to contact any member of our staff.
- If you have any problems feel free to consult the staff of the site. It's often a good idea to check with the people who work in the area you have a problem or question about.
- If you have a problem with a staff member or a discipline you receive, please contact an administrator with your issue and they will take care of it. In other situations, please refrain from contacting the admins if at all possible.
- The staff communicates through forum PMs. Normally if a staff member PMs you it is important, so please read the PMs you receive from them.
