As a 4vs1 horror game from developer FNTATIC and publisher MYTONA, Propnight carries on with it endless inspiration. Indeed, the title Propnight is a combination of the two games that inspired it: Prop Hunt and Dead by Daylight.
There is a game of hide and seek, in Prop Hunt the player hides while other players hunt, so the fugitive wins if the time runs out without being found. On the other hand, Dead by Daylight is a 4v1 horror game in which the survivor repairs generators and evades the assassin character in chases. Recently, Propnight described what the combination of these two gameplay would look like in an official trailer.

Accordingly, the trailer shows that Propnight combines familiar concepts from both games. Propnight’s cosmic loop is inspired by Dead by Daylight, with Prop Hunt’s cutting edge mechanics. However, Propnight seems to be much less prone to stalking than its predecessors and much more chaotic during the moment-to-moment gameplay; For example, survivors transform into objects that hover around.

Propnight also focuses on horror elements, as you can see in the trailer that has an image of an evil nun wearing dark gray Valak makeup and yellow eyes that look like they want to see through the soul. In the role of a killer, the player pursues survivors in a first-person perspective, no different from Dead by Daylight.
However, it seems that the survivors also play in first person when they are not transforming into props, like the scene where the player temporarily stuns the assassin character with the camera flash. This stun also causes some coins to drop from enemies.
Gamers can experience the open beta for free from October 15 to 18. Now, fans of Prop Hunt or Dead by Daylight have plenty of opportunities to discover the latest in the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre.
Propnight is currently scheduled to release on December 1, 2021 on PC (Steam).
