Facebook increasingly shows its determination to invest in VR technology
Since Facebook is hoping to build a strong ecosystem for learning in the metaverse, the company plans to create more than just rich educational experiences. Part of the money will go to training partners to create VR and AR content, helping them bring their own experiences.
Facebook is working with Unity to teach people the skills needed to create VR learning content, relying primarily on Unity’s Create with VR for Educators tool with Quest 2 devices to teach organizations non-profit and educational institutions. In addition, the company also works with a number of educational institutions, including colleges and universities, as well as nonprofits, to create enriching experiences.
Facebook says it’s taking steps to increase people’s access to VR learning materials – a key factor so that the work Facebook is aiming for doesn’t go to waste.
