The LCK Secretariat said they received information from a team at the tournament alleging that T1 coach Roach directly inquired about the contract status of a first-team player.
The act of directly contacting other team players to recruit and exchange contract information without the governing body’s authority is often called “nighting” and is a prohibited act not only in League of Legends but also in game village in general.
Roach (born in 1999) admitted his behavior and was fined 3 million won (nearly 60 million dong), along with being forced to “suspend” 4 matches. These will be the first 4 matches in the tournament that he registered to participate in (LCK or LCK CL 2022).
T1’s young coach said he directly asked a player if this player was in free form, instead of raising the issue with the management team.
Besides asking, Roach made no other moves, along with the other player’s contract not yet terminated, so the punishment for the guy was somewhat mitigated.
