According to The Verge, video game adaptations are getting a lot of attention, such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and live-action TV series Halo, including Chris Pratt as Mario and the movie about Uncharted coming soon. Among the cult names above, Netflix is also ready to bring another franchise: Mega Man by Capcom, a game that has been popular through classics since 1987 on the original NES.

Mega Man has been in the works since 2015 at Chernin Entertainment and became a bit more formal in 2018 when Capcom officially announced it would be a live-action film directed by Henry Joost and Rel Schulman. But the duo recently revealed on their company website Supermarché that Netflix has been involved in the project.

There is no word yet on how far the film has come or when it might be released. Netflix and Supermarché were not immediately available for comment.
Netflix definitely saw the potential thanks to the series’ performance The Witcher and Castlevania. The company also has programs such as Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, and is said to be developing the series Pokémon played by real people. Overall, Netflix sees a bright future for gaming and producing video game adaptations.
