Once upon a time, Ahri was a very popular champion in the world of League of Legends. But it was a fairy tale about the nine-tailed fox a long time ago, when she was a favorite character of not only League of Legends gamers but also in the cosplay community.

Over the past several seasons, this mage champion has fallen out of favor, causing the pick rate in matches to drop dramatically, to 5.35% even though the win rate is still at an average of 50.1%. Partly because Ahri’s skill set is too old and no longer suitable for the current meta.
This fact makes Riot have to recalculate and according to gameplay designer Bryan “Axes” Salvatore, NPH really wants to bring her back to the mid lane.

“In the case of Ahri, we’re working on it again because we’ve found that players who used to love this champion are no longer interested in using it. The goal is to improve the experience so that when playing Ahri, gamers will feel happier and receive more support from NPH”, Axes explained.
The remake could be on a similar scale to what they did to Lucian in last season’s update. The exact change to Ahri has not been revealed and it is not clear when Riot will remake this fox.
“We hope that if the work goes well, Ahri will be popular again,” added Axes.
