The technology industry is going through a difficult time when shortages of components and delayed delivery schedules make the gaming community worry about the fate of the Steam Deck handheld game console. But recently, the publisher Valve is still optimistic that the machine is still on track to launch in February 2022 and there will be no more delays.

“We are still on the right track. Of course, the Steam Deck has been moved from its original release date of late this year to early next year, but everything is fine now and we should be able to ship from February next year,” said Valve design expert Greg Coomer. speak.

Valve representatives did not disclose how many Steam Deck have been pre-ordered, but Coomer confirmed that the sale of this device will not be similar to other types of hardware because the machine is currently sold only through the Steam store, while normal. Usually, manufacturing companies will have to deliver goods to thousands of different retail addresses.

According to Coomer, Valve engineers estimated that there were about 50 components in the Steam Deck that were in the “risk of supply shortage” category, so the staff had to ask the production partner to commit to supplying enough. order quantity and on time so as not to affect the product route.

“The main reason why we had to delay the sale from late 2021 to early 2022 is because some details are difficult to collect on time and in fact were delivered late. Even a large manufacturing industry like cars lacks these items, so it is difficult for us to avoid the same situation,” he added.
