According to Kotaku, when holding a new Nintendo Switch game console, many users will wonder what to do. While the Switch is pretty easy to set up and use, there are a few tricks that will make the device experience a whole lot better, from increasing battery life to saving time browsing the eShop. Before you step into the tricks you want, make sure you’ve created a user profile and connected it to your Nintendo account.
1. Screen Protector for Switch
No matter how careful you are, the Switch still needs a sticker to protect the screen against external agents. Understanding this, accessory company Hori has created an economical but effective sticker for Nintendo’s game console, consider using it to protect the screen. There are also a bunch of other options, such as a carrying case which is also a good way to protect the Switch.

2. Create more sub accounts
Even if you’re the only one playing games on the Switch, create one more user profile. And it’s even more interesting if you set up the region for that sub-account to be in Japan. Some games only allow one save file per account, and if the region is set to Japan, it will unlock games and demos that haven’t come to other regions, including some games in Switch Online’s classic library.
3. Turn on Dark Mode
Go to the settings menu and enable Dark Mode. It will make your eyes softer during device use and reduce unnecessary battery usage.

4. Using Airplane mode
One more tip regarding battery life, turn on Airplane Mode to turn off unnecessary features like WiFi and Bluetooth. It will extend battery life and can be easily re-enabled to normal mode instantly notification from the settings menu.
5. Remove password requirement for eShop
Switch often requires you to enter your password every time you log into the eShop, if this makes you uncomfortable turn it off. To do that first open the eShop, select your profile icon in the top right, click on your account info and change the settings for ignoring password entry.
6. Play free games
Although the Switch library doesn’t have too many free-to-play titles, you can try to experience the feeling of gaming with your new Switch with titles like Fortnite, Warframe, Pokémon Unite, Brawlhalla, Apex Legends and Eternal.
7. Back up data with save to the cloud
Previously, the Switch did not run with cloud saving but is now available thanks to the Switch Online service. However, this is a paid service with a price of 20 USD/year. This service will be useful if you plan to invest a lot of time in offline games like Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey. Plus, even if your Switch is stolen or damaged, your saved data is safe in the Switch Online cloud.
