The 12th generation Intel Core processors for laptops have just been launched by Intel spanning different computer segments, from huge machines like gaming laptops, mobile workstations to ultra-compact Ultrabooks. , even PCs equipped with folding screens coming this year.

Basically, the newly launched laptop processors cannot be as powerful as the 12th generation Intel Core processors for desktop computers – with the typical representative face being the Core i9-12900K – which has been Intel launched earlier.
However, the hybrid architecture adjustment between the performance cores (P) and the mid performance cores (E) will provide the optimal experience for laptops: just enough performance tuning for experiences from heavy to light.
This combination principle is similar to ARM’s operation and all will be run smoothly on Windows 11 thanks to Intel’s Thread Director management technology.
Not too different from every year, Intel will launch 3 12th generation Intel Core lines as follows:
- H series (highest performance): focuses on high-performance laptops such as gaming computers, workstations…
- P series (average performance): focuses on popular laptops such as ultrabooks.
- U series (power-saving): optimized for thin, light devices, demanding aesthetics and unique features higher than performance such as folding devices, 2-in-1 laptops or tabletops.
Intel lists a number of device lines suitable for the U . series of chips
At CES 2022, many laptop manufacturers are introducing more laptops with 12th generation Intel Core processors, such as Dell XPS 13 Plus or HP Elite Dragonfly G3.
