Follow Neowin, LG worked with Mercedes-Benz to implement its software on vehicles with a Pillar-to-Pillar (P2P) display integrated in an MBUX ultra-thin display that spans the entire dashboard.

LG says the MBUX Hyperscreen was unveiled by Mercedes-Benz at CES 2021 and has an LCD screen for the instrument cluster display (ICD), and two OLED screens for the central information display (CID) and the screen. controller (CDD).

LG’s IVI system will be available on many future models

To help adapt its IVI to this display system, LG’s Manufacturing Engineering Research Institute (PERI) is responsible for providing in-house expertise on equipment, material composition and engineering advanced production.

LG Vehicle Chairman Eun Seok-hyun commented, “It is an honor to work closely with such a reliable partner as Mercedes-Benz AG. Being named a valuable supplier of automotive displays by Mercedes-Benz AG last year gives us pride as our partnership is showing excellent results.”
