Google continues to increase investment in the UK
Google says the majority of employees in the UK want the option to work from home some days of the week, while some want to work completely remotely.
To meet these needs, Google is upgrading offices with collaboration spaces for face-to-face teamwork. The company will also deploy teampods to best support centralized or collaborative work tasks. There is also a covered area outside for people to work better in a fresh atmosphere.
In addition to its new offices, Google recently made available the Grace Hopper Atlantic underground cable to improve the resiliency of Google services in the UK.
The company is also expanding its partnership with the UK Department of Labor and Welfare to help 10,000 jobseekers gain access to free scholarships to earn Google Career Certificates in high-demand fields and various high growth such as IT support, data analysis, project management and user interface design.
